Always have an exit strategy.

I wonder if I were to escape the police in handcuffs if I would be able to ride a bike as part of my getaway plan. I doubt I'd get far, but I mean could I even get the bike going?

This is assuming, of course, that I was cuffed with my hands behind my back. Because if I were cuffed with my hands in front, then I'd be wondering if I could ride a motorcycle.

This is why we should never have made horses obsolete. A person could escape on a decent horse, no matter where their hands were bound.

Unless you had to tack it up yourself. I could tack up a well-behaved horse handcuffed in front, if I had some time to kill, but not handcuffed in back.
